Lorenzo Rupil (b. 2002, Udine) began his musical studies at the age of six at the “Jacopo Tomadini” Conservatory in his hometown, where he later graduated with top marks in Organ and Organ Composition.
He is currently continuing his studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, one of the world’s leading institutions dedicated to early music and historical instruments. During his training he also studied at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with Martin Maierhofer and David Franke, and at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen in the class of Johannes Bleicher. He has attended masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians such as Wolfgang Seifen, Ludger Lohmann, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Olivier Latry, Isabelle Demers and Harald Vogel, deepening his knowledge of historical organ repertoire, historically informed performance practice and improvisation.
Early music and historical keyboard instruments play a central role in his artistic path. Alongside his organ activity, he performs as a harpsichordist, continuo player and chamber musician, collaborating with ensembles and orchestras in Italy and abroad. He has also taken part in harpsichord and basso continuo masterclasses with Takashi Watanabe and Rachel Podger.
He is the winner of several piano, organ and harpsichord competitions. In 2024, together with mezzo-soprano Marianna Acito, he won First Prize and a Special Prize at the “Vox et Organum” competition in Noale. In 2025 he accompanied cellist Laia Terre on the harpsichord at the 113th Convocatoria de Juventudes Musicales de España dedicated to early music, where he was awarded First Prize.
He maintains an intense concert activity as a soloist and continuo player and works as a liturgical organist in various contexts between Italy and Switzerland.
